Visit to West Wales – Tenby, Saundersfoot, Marloes and Skomer
Tenby Harbour I went down to Pembrokeshire this weekend (Friday 9th October 2009 – Sunday 11th October 2009) staying in Tenby Friday and Saturday night. We were very lucky with the weather with unseasonally hot weather on Saturday which made quite hard work walking from Tenby to Saundersfoot on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path! I walked most of St Brides Bay earlier in the summer and I must say I found... read more

England Vs Ukraine to be internet only
England’s World Cup qualifier in the Ukraine on Saturday 10th October 2009 will be shown on the internet with people paying at least £4.99 for the privilege. I personally think it is a shame if we end up going down this route especially with such a pitiful broadband service in many areas of the UK. When a game is shown on Satellite TV a large proportion of the population have no access to the match... read more

The Trouble With Top, Right, Bottom and Left – Shorthand CSS

iPhone 3G Blank Screen Problem
I have been happily using my iPhone 3G for a number of months now quite happily, well despite its appalling SMS support but apart from that it has been great. My first real problem came the other day when for no apparent reason the phone appeared dead. The screen was blank and no button worked at all, no matter what I pressed nothing happened the phone appeared to be dead. Out of desperation I tried... read more

Reseting DNS cache in Windows, Mac OS X and Linux

Deleting E-Mail Accounts Outside of Outlook
I made a vital error when running outlook 2007 for the first time the other day. I tried to connect to the exchange server in work using the first run wizard. Unfortunately for me the wizard did not ask for all the details needed to connect to the server and I got a warning saying that ‘Outlook could not connect to the exchange server’. When I next started outlook I got the same message so I... read more

Got a Mac? – Get Anti-Virus Software!
The Register reported yesterday on Apple’s advice that Mac users should use Anti-Virus software, well more than one peice of Anti-Virus software if Apples advice is to be followed. Well I agree, to a certain extent anyway, using two products may be a bit excessive especially as it will hit your system’s performance but I certainly think that using anti-virus software is a must. Now contuary to... read more

Database Connections Outside of Webroot
For extra security many often store their database connection credentials outside of the web root. This is fairly easy to achieve without to much work. For those of you who are unsure how to store database connection credentials in a separate file please refer to my article on Connecting to MySQL with PHP Once you have your connections in a php file (this is also relevant to other languages such as asp... read more
